I am having struggles with a few of the components of the rubric. One is Component 3b- Questioning and Discussion Techniques. Since my students function on a low cognitive level it is difficult to get them to answer higher level questions that I pose much less get them to formulate them on their own. Any suggestions? 
Everyone of my students have IEP Goals and objectives that I use to create lesson plans for each student each week.  The aides and I work with the students on an individual bases following the lesson plan guide that I print every week. 7 of 8 of my students are mainstreamed into other classrooms based on the assignments in the IEP and have other services such as Speech, OT, and APE so there is little time for grouping in my classroom and a lot of coming and going in and out of the classroom. When I do grouping it is with small groups and it is working on skills that need direction from me rather than a group leader.
I'm just having trouble wrapping my mind around how this is suppose to work in a self-contained special education classroom where the cognitive levels and needs are so diverse.
