CASH IN SCHOOL BUILDINGS

No money shall be left overnight in an unlocked safe, nor shall any principal or teacher keep cash in his or her office or classroom overnight.  Sound business procedure requires that principals, teachers, bookkeepers, and any other person in any school handling funds, forward money to the principal's office on the day of collection, to be deposited on the same day of collection, whenever possible, except for small sums needed for petty cash.
